Looking to expand, Nixon Peabody’s Chicago office retained McGuire Engineers (MEPC) to design an efficient, thoughtfully planned and environmentally friendly space. The space earned LEED Gold certification for Commercial Interiors (CI) and light became the main focus of the design.

  • Forty variable air volume (VAV) boxes throughout the 32,000 square-foot space, promoting energy efficiency and increased ventilation.

  • Daylight harvesting sensors for all outside perimeter offices.

  • Dimming controls.

  • Dual occupancy sensors with user intervention capabilities that turns lights on and off automatically.

  • MEPC’s fundamental commissioning services allowed for Nixon Peabody’s building systems to perform at optimal levels based on thorough evaluations and analyses.
