Background

McGuire Engineers was founded in 1986 by Anthony B. McGuire to provide engineering consultation and design of building systems. The firm's objective is to assist clients in making sound business decisions regarding their building systems. This is accomplished by a concerted effort to maintain close working relationships throughout a project, from the early conceptual stages to construction, start-up, occupancy and post-occupancy consultation.

The firm has grown steadily and now has a staff of thirty permanent employees. In January 1990, the firm established an internal electrical consulting group to augment mechanical services. This group now represents over one third of the firm's activity.

Services

McGuire Engineers  offers full engineering services in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Sprinkler, Life Safety, Data/Telecommunications and Lighting Systems. Commercial building projects were the initial thrust of the firm's activity, while hospitality, institutional, health care, laboratories, education, retail, and light industrial facilities have increased over the years. In addition to comprehensive traditional design services, engineering consultation in an advisory capacity is offered. Included in this area is the vast array of Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing-Fire Protection needs, such as energy analysis, commissioning, scope-designs, "fast track" and "design-build", code reviews, and due diligence studies.

As a service organization, the primary responsibility is to the clients. MEPC's size and depth of experience provides attentive service with senior staff participation on all projects. Although metropolitan Chicago represents the core of activities, projects have been completed in twenty-five states, the District of Columbia, Saudi Arabia, the Cayman Islands, China, the Dominican Republic and Qatar.

McGuire Engineers holds professional engineering licenses in Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia.
